An Example of a Pharmaceutical Case
Many people would criticize if you attempted to make a case against a pharmaceutical company. However if they though logically they would do the same as you. It may seem completely irrelevant if you have been given an incorrect dose and been given a full refund for it and then dispend the correct medication. However if you were given the wrong medication, and then not contacted about it, and then allowed to take it for months on end, don't you think hat would cause problems? Furthermore don't you think you deserve better than that from a national health program? Don't you think you should be entitled to some form of compensation?
Well a good answer is yes. Many cases share similarities with each other. This is just an example of a normal case statement. So let’s imagine that you keep having constant migraines. Now you go see your doctor and they recommend some antibiotics to you. They do no check of allergies or medical history. They just assign you some antibiotics. You go to your local pharmacy and pick up your prescription and begin taking them regularly when the packet says. It all works fine until a few weeks later you start vomiting and have severe drowsiness that affects your work.
You assume that it must be the new medication and go see your doctor again. They examine you and then the medication dosage and find that you have been prescribed the wrong amount and type. He proclaims that the symptoms you have been suffering from is your body’s way of getting rid of the medication from your body. He tells you that if you had carried on taking them any longer the situation could have got worse or you could have died from an indirect overdose.
Now if you were told this you would be very angry and you would want some for of payback for the ordeal you have been through. If you had brought up a lawsuit case like this years ago you would have been laughed at for being so ignorant and not giving the pharmacy your full details. But you are not at fault in this situation, the pharmacy and to an extent your doctor is so if filed you could hold a case against him. But either way if this situation or one like it has affected you, you shouldn’t stand by idly and watch them get away with it. Next time somebody like you might not be as lucky.
